TEMPLE EMANUEL SISTERHOOD, with a membership of 300+ is a group of enthusiastic, friendly, and committed women.  Our goal is to foster the highest ideals of Reform Judaism, and to promote meaningful relationships among the women in our congregation.

Sisterhood Identity

Temple Emanuel Sisterhood provides a collective identity for the women in our congregation, and also provides an outlet for the creative energy, talent and leadership of each of its members.  Through its affiliation with the Women of Reform Judaism, Sisterhood provides you with both a national and worldwide connection to other Jewish women.

Commitment to Our Congregation

Sisterhood supports our congregation, religious school, and all areas of the Temple.  We work with our religious school to provide refreshments and activities throughout the year.  We supply gifts to B’nai Mitzvah students, confirmands, and graduates of our high school program.  We support the Temple in its many ongoing activities.

Commitment to Community

Sisterhood takes pride in our response to the needs of our community locally, nationally, andinternationally.  We sponsor casserole cooking to help feed local people and provide over $1,000 of grocery script to our Rabbis to distribute to needy families.  For local shelters, we donate holiday gifts for the children and collect other necessities throughout the year.  Our response to global community emergencies has included thosedevastated by Hurricane Katrina, to the crisis in Darfur, and to those involved in the current Israeli crisis.
