The Henry Raich Senior Group

Temple Emanuel's Henry Raich Seniors Group got an update on issues involving Israel, interfaith relations among Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and other activities of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern New Jersey at the Seniors' November 2005 Brown Bag meeting. Alan Respler, center, executive director of the JCRC, spoke to about 60 members of the Seniors Group. Alan is pictured with Sandy Gordon, left, program chair for the event, and Gert Pastelnick, Henry Raich Seniors Group president. The JCRC is the human relations and public policy agency of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey.

The Henry Raich Senior Group, named in loving memory of its founder, Dr. Henry Raich, is an auxilliary arm of Temple Emanuel formed by the Senior members of our congregation. The purpose is to support Temple Emanuel through activities organized by and for the Senior members of the Temple. Its primary emphasis is on service through essentially self supporting functions which are always open to all members of our congregation. Their varied programming includes discussion groups, book reviews, hosting festival dinners, Shabbat dinners and breakfasts throughout the year.
