Youth GroupDear Temple Emanuel Family, TEFTY NEEDS YOU!!
Temple Emanuel and its youth groups have been selected to host this year’s North American Federation of Temple Youth/ Pennsylvania Region (NFTY/PAR) social action convention, WINSTY. NFTY/PAR is our Reform movement’s regional high school youth group. During Martin Luther King weekend, January 13 through January 15, you will find close to two hundred teens from the entire Pennsylvania/South Jersey area here at our synagogue. Imagine 200 teens living Jewishly, doing mitzvot, making a difference, and having the most incredible weekend ever…awesome!! Please read the following descriptions with utmost care and consideration. Families are needed to house teen participants (including our own Temple Emanuel teens!) Host families provide: housing for both Friday and Saturday nights, transportation to and from the Temple, breakfast for Saturday and Sunday, a place to take a break on Saturday afternoon, and Saturday dinner. VOLUNTEER HOST FAMILIES WILL HOST ONLY MALE OR ONLY FEMALE GUESTS. PLEASE NOTE: It is possible that not all volunteer host families will be necessary, based upon the number of participants. 2. MEAL ASSISTANTS: We need volunteers to help with Friday Shabbat dinner, Saturday lunch, and Sunday lunch and dinner. These volunteers will help with food preparation, serving, and cleaning up. 3. CHAPERONES: We need chaperones(must be 21 years old or older) for projects both inside and outside the Temple building. Please return the volunteer form as soon as possible. Thank you so much, Sandy
