Kol Emanuel,
(Voice
of Emanuel), is Temple Emanuel's Adult Choir.
The choir’s repertoire includes Jewish liturgical pieces, music of the Holocaust, and
compositions by contemporary Jewish composers in Hebrew, Yiddish and English. Under the leadership of Julia Zavadsky,
Kol Emanuel is committed to the performance of Jewish and Jewish-influenced
music in both the liturgical and secular traditions, from the twelfth century to
the twenty-first century, giving voice to the full spectrum of music arising out
of these various Jewish traditions.
The choir sings at occasional Friday night Shabbat
services, High Holy Day Services, as well as performing at Jewish Choral
Festivals, Israeli Independence Community Concerts, Holocaust Remembrance Day
Concerts, and the South Jersey Community wide Jewish Culture Shuk.
