Sh’lach L’cha - Numbers 13:1 – 15:41

God tells Moses to send—Sh’lach L’cha-- twelve men, a leader from each tribe, to scout the land of Canaan. Moses instructs the scouts (or in Hebrew "spies") to go first to the Negev and then proceed up into the hill country. The scouts are to determine the quality of the land and the strength of the people inhabiting the land.

Shabbat Morning Services will be held tomorrow at 10:30 am when NOAH AARON SCHORR, son of Mindy and Michael Schorr will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah.  Havdalah Services will be held at 6:15 pm when SYDNEY ELYSE FORMAN, daughter of Lisa and David Forman will be called to the Torah for her Bat Mitzvah. 

 

Please join us next Friday Evening as we celebrate Shabbat with a special creative service from our Men’s Club at 8 pm.  Kol Emanuel will participate in the service.  Tot Shabbat will be held at 7 pm in the Chapel.


 

Torah Study will be held tomorrow morning at 9:15 am in the Library. Bring a friend. Enjoy coffee, camaraderie and good conversation in a casual environment.

 

Casserole Cooking will take place on Tuesday, June 12 at 7 pm.  Help us with this monthly mitzvah project of preparing casseroles to be delivered to the Neighborhood Center in Camden.   Call Sheila Stern at (856) 829-1656.

 

The Henry Raich Senior Group will hold a brown bag lunch and discussion on Wednesday, June 20 at 12 NoonRabbi David will be the guest speaker.  Refreshments will be served.

Yiddish Class with Al Rubin will continue on Thursday evening, June 14 at 7:30 pm in the Library.  You can join this fun group any time.  For more information, call Al at 856-278-7313.

 

Our Caring Community Committee is looking for volunteers to assist in getting members to Services, doctor’s appointments and food shopping.  Contact Robin [email protected] or Adrienne [email protected] or email the Caring Community at [email protected] to volunteer.

 

If you know of any friends or family that may be interested in our Temple or religious school, and would like some more info about our services and programs, call Jane at (856) 489-0029 x15 and she will be happy to contact them.  Tell your friends and neighbors about Temple Emanuel and ask them to join you for Shabbat. A Prospective Member Open House will be held on Wed. June 27 at 7 pm.

 

Do you have a pre-school age child? We have many offerings available at Temple Emanuel.  Contact (856) 489-0034 for information about our pre-school program, Toddler Territory and infant programming. There are still openings at Kamp Kayeetz, our summer program for 2-5 year olds old. For more info on how your pre-schooler can have a fun time at Temple Emanuel, call Jeanie at (856) 489-0034 x22.

 

Our Tree of Life is a beautiful addition to our Temple. Leaves and rocks can be purchased for any simcha or life cycle event or just to honor a loved one. Spots can be reserved as well. Call Irene Strauss at (856) 489-0029 x12 for more information.

 

Did you know those Gift Cards (also known as SCRIP) are available for more than just grocery stores? And – Sisterhood has them! We have bookstores, restaurants, department stores and much more available. For a complete list of available stores and gift card denominations, please pickup the current list and order form at the Temple, or contact Jessica Chasen at [email protected] or (609) 929-4726. Orders are placed weekly for any cards we don’t have in stock today.  For our past supporters, don’t worry – you can still purchase Shop Rite and Stop & Shop in the Temple Office as before. All purchases help fund our Temple Sisterhood and ultimately our synagogue. Thank you for your support.
